Get Warm for Winter – Ministry of Retail

It's two day to Christmas, and here would be my virtual gift to you-
A post with massive photos specially prepared with efforts of editing & writing :p

As you know, i just came back from Korea a week back and it was freezing madly for me (i'm quite afraid of cold),
and the temperature there was about 0 to 5 Degrees, I'm pretty sure it is definitely below that now- about 0 to -10 Degrees Celsius.
With that in mind,  I bet you are actively looking for coats, in particularly pretty and stylish coats,
there you go, here's one fashion boutique - Ministry of Retail that has exactly what you are looking for. ;)

They are in fact a fashion boutique that brings to you quality apparels that are from Korea,
(I must say, Koreans have absolutely great fashion sense and almost everything that is made from Korea has at least a minimal good quality),
and all designs in Ministry of Retail are imported exclusively,

These apparels are following the fashion trends of Korea,
at the same time, Ministry of Retail will focus on picking out those nicest of the lot and definitely, ensuring quality from the picks as well.
I must say a great thank you to them – for letting me have a share of the fashion coats/clothing fix for my Korea trip or so,
and for being so efficient with their customer service (coats came right in time for my trip!).

Not just that, they do have a wide range of Korean fashion accessories,
apparels that are worn inside of our coats or for our normal local weather.
I was so carried away with looking for outer coats that it slipped off my mind that i would need inner wear as well,
given that I would also be indoors for half/most of the time in Korea!

Here are what I got from their online boutique:

I love everything about this outer coat actually.
How unique and military-troops looking it is, the two flaps on the shoulders, the rich blue colour, the cutting as well as the material etc.
Quality is good and if you prefer a shorter coat, this will be a nice choice!

I fell right in love with this piece straight away while browsing through their site,
a great piece to be worn as the layer before my coat.

Don't mind the puffiness in some of the pics above, because i have like 4 layers of clothing (well, not that thick ones!) below in fact.
Knew it's a pretty piece and cool thing that the cut still gave me some shape especially at the waist given that I had so many layers.
Material is good and I can also wear this in Singapore!

Got this military blazer for normal wear as well.
It feels better than the pictures for sure, and i love the shoulder pads and the thickness cum quality of this piece.
In my opinion, the thickness can be worn for weather around 18 Degrees Celsius,
or if you are afraid of cold like me, can wear just in our shopping malls!

Last but not least, you wouldn't want to miss out this real stylish blazer too.
Material is not as thick as those winter wear, and definitely fits our local Singapore weather – in office or on the roads etc.
Love the trendiness of this!

You might want to take a look at what they have in stores for you,
but they would also like to extend two promotions to you!
1. Get $5 shopping credits when you sign up with this account HERE (can sign up and use it next time)
2. Free The Faceshop Hand Cream worth S$9.90 with purchase of S$100 or more (while stocks last)

Enjoy shopping babes!

I got my nails done at trusty Pink Parlour a few days ago for Christmas!
Would have done up a more fanciful design but was rushing off to town,
so did a simple shimmery shade with a light pink tone instead.

It's always nice to see the usual staff again for my frequent nails & waxing appointment
and thank you to them for rushing with me. ;)

always feeling pampered at their store.

Waxing time!

Feeling pretty in pink in my dress from Fash Mob too!
It's a pretty piece with a waterfall design in front, hence the unique layering at the bottom part. ;)

The weekend before I flew off was a Sunday Shopping momsie & daughter time in town.
Been a long while since momsie and I did that, and nonetheless, it was an awesome and fruitful day out.

We began with a family lunch as I was craving for dimsum!
Too bad my sister couldn't join as she had to go to school for curriculum.

I have a thing for flowy straight cut bohemian dresses actually,
and this piece is one of my favourite at Fash Mob.
Paired it up with my comfy sandals plus a scarf and I am ready for shopping all day long ;p

Love custard buns!!! <3
I'll at least have two every time.

If you find the background familiar,
you probably can see that I have been visiting town quite a few times recently!

I ran a short errand in town on this particular Friday,
dressed up my favourite of all in Fash Mob's recent collection – military looking one-piece cream dress.
I quite sure it's a gorgeous piece given that i got stopped by a fashion photographer from NY, complimenting the dress sense,
and snapped a couple of pictures!

Would love to get those pictures up here but I have not received them! :(

Anyways, after my errand,
I met up with my parents and hurhur to head over to a new Japanese Restaurant for dinner.

Am a big fan of Tempura(s) and got to know that Ten Tempura is one of the Japanese restaurants that specializes in it.
It is located at The Central @ Clarke Quay, good that it's away from the hustle and bustle,
and it would be hard to miss it because it's situated conveniently at level one.

I like it that it's a casual dining place, a pretty cozy and relaxed restaurant settings.

Luckily we reached slightly earlier than dinner time, it was crowded by then!

We ordered two mains, but quite a number of sides dishes to try as it looks really appetizing in the menu,
and here are a few that will be a must-try if you are popping over:

1. Japanese egg wrapped with pickles, lettuce, fish eggs, and crispy tempura crumbs.

2. This is a side dish too, a pretty small bowl but I love the texture of the noodles (it's something like a thin udon and has a chewy texture) and the lightness yet tasty sauce accompanying it.
Special thing would be the tempura crumbs sprinkled on top of the noodles. Nice!

3. of course, we are at Ten Tempura and it's needed to try their tempura(s)!
Prawns are juicy and what's special and different from others (explained by the chef and tasted by myself) is the sauce that comes with this.
it tasted rather different from the usual dip and some sort like a combination of savoury cum sweet sauce,
definitely tastier after pouring it all over the tempura.

Let the pics do the talking!

And that's the boss of the restaurant! ;)

Prices are around $15 to $20 for a set meal,
and here's the address if you are a fan of japanese food, tempura and are keen to give it a try!

I finally completed my Christmas Shopping just yesterday in town,
and at the same time, i visited my usual-good-o Salon Vim for a hair cut, colour and treatment just in time for Christmas!

Here's John, my dedicated stylist whom I have been going to for all my hair troubles for almost 2 years!

Got myself a Loreal Spray from the Salon after John's recommendation as I needed one to hold my curls as well as my usual straight but curled ends.
He used it on me after the cut and I like the lightness of it, will try it on my hair this weekend!

And a pic of my done-up hair ;)

Love how refreshed and healthy looking the hair is after the afternoon,
and I really need to master how to curl it at the ends like how John does it for me. heh

After my hair I went to find Leney as she was working at Mandarin Gallery for this week,
Had my shopping all done while waiting for her to end work before we grabbed a bit together.

if you are wondering where did I get this pair of black platform wedges,
they are from and are my current favourite pair in the shoe-drobe! :p
Love the platform in front which makes the wedge more comfortable, and it's light too,
wore this for shopping even!

And given that it's around 10pm, we decided to pop over to Javiers @ cine leisure (Which closes at 11pm)
for our delayed dinner.

Pretty sumptuous for a late night dinner, oops.

We are definitely going back for more,
it's S$8.90 for a plate with a bowl of soup, and you can literally fill anything up from their entire row of hot, cold, raw, cooked and fried food.
But the thing is you can only fill it ONCE.
Quite hilarious to see some plates that are extremely full, like an ice-kachang piling on the plate. heh

Friends & Food: Marutama, Sukiya & Kko Kko Nara

YAY! I finally got the space to put up some of my brand new pieces and my pre-loved pieces for sale!

I know some of you joined the mailing list when i had the "shop" tab (at the top right hand corner) and supported my pre-loved/brandnew items.
Thank you so much but sorry that i didn't update it for a while as there were bandwidth issues when i loaded all the pictures there.
Nearly got my blog suspended due to that!!

Leney used to be doing pre-orders & sale of apparels/shoes at her old livejournal site (maybe some of you were her customers even!),
but she's doing well and has moved to this new domain/website - Klarra officially.
i'll be placing my items there with her for sale! Am helping to model there as well. ;)

Do join the mailing list to support and please help me to clear my stuff!!
heh, i'll update from time to time and make sure they are affordable and of good quality! ;p

P.S: my prevloved items will be under the "Sale" segment

The past last week has gotta be one of the most sinful week ever because i was totally indulging in good food!

It's a love hate thing cuz you get so excited and satisfied after an absolutely great meal,
but knowing that you need to work out after and somehow control your diet for the next week or more.
If not, the figure is gonna go haywire with such constant indulgence!

Nonetheless, I tried a couple of new places as well,
and am here to do some recommendations, especially those places that I gave two thumbs up for them!
Not to forget, great company makes the food better too. ;)

Met up with the girlies and we had a night out to one of my favourite steamboat places!
What's best is that it's a SUKIYAKI (i love sukiyaki!) steamboat place, with free flow of Shabu Shabu (chicken, beef, pork).

Leney and applepie. <3

The sukiyaki steamboat venue is called SUKI-YA,
i bet you have heard of it or went before as it has been around for years.
I still remember my first time was with momsie 3 years back when it was newly opened.

free flow of all three kinds of meat! Chicken, pork or beef.

Two soup bases too: we had sukiyaki and spicy miso.

there's a bar that has free flow of other food as well!

What i love about eating there as well is that you can mix your own sauce for your food.
And after dipping the cooked meat into the mixed sauce…the taste is brilliant!

Not just those, but they have desserts – ice cream & fruits.
The only thing to note is that the buffet is for 100 minutes strictly, starting from the time you place the first order,
but based on my own experience, it's a pretty reasonable time frame.

My lovely pills..

<3 Applepie & Leney.

Wore my new found favourite leopard prints maxi from ,
and it's just so comfortable on the skin and perfect for me eating buffet! heh
What I like about the design is that they have an enhanced waist design to make sure you don't look preggy in the dress.

After dinner, we caught Breaking Dawn (Twilight Saga) and i must say the show is all about smooches and pregnancy.
A lil draggy, but i suppose it was on purpose to make sure we all watch the second part! heh.
Well, i'm still looking forward to the next!

Coming year end also marks the day for Yalin's Birthday,
and birthday means exploring a new place for our group gathering.

All were racking our brains to think of one, but knowing that the birthday girl likes Japanese food,
we decided on Marutama Ramen – the Central branch for the dinner venue.

Outfit for the dinner was a pretty unique layered dress from ,
love the cut and the classic colours, flattering.

The venue was kinda interesting as the staff mentioned to me that the restaurant does not have seats for about 14 pax.
So the best he can come out with was a room at the corner, which he mentioned that it was the staff room but convertible for guests.
And that's the room above, more pics below! hehe, pretty cozy I must say. :p

Here comes the food:

Gyoza. This wasn't really worth it in my opinion, a lil bland tasting no doubt the sauce.

Chicken miso ramen.

Our char siew ramen.

The Ramens were tasty, soup base was rich and quite a big portion of noodles.
But the only concern i have was that it's a tad oily :(
The egg & char siew was good nevertheless!

We proceeded to give the birthday girl a surprise- her cake!
And fortunately, poots has a friend who owns Freshness burger and we got to know that they have tasty nuggets promotions at just $2,
so there we were, having second round of food and the perfect place for the surprise.

oh did i mention poots is so cute, she used to work at freshness burger!!
hahah check out the demanding customer "me" and poots behind the counter.

One of their specialty- dough pancakes with banana & chocolate sauce.

Happy birthday Yalin!

The girlies :)

I realised I do have quite a couple of friends who are year end babies and Calvin is one of them!

Got to know Calvin through my university internship,
but i actually seen him around in school pretty often before that.
Didn't he's such a funny guy to hang out with and definitely the joy bringer of the group!
He even organized a Mcdonald's birthday party last year and made us all wore kiddo outfits. seesh!

But this year was kept somehow simple but not too simple,
we first started with a dinner at a Korean Restaurant called Kko Kko Nara he picked cuz his wife was craving for Korean food.
I'm a great fan of korean food too and it was my first time visiting this place,
didn't really try the signature dishes like bibimpab or so as we all shared a huge wok of mixed food and a plate of their signature fried chicken.
Still, from what i remember, the food was pretty good,
and the signature chickens (drumlets and wings), tasted rather similar to buffalo wings, were really delicious!

Would head back there to give it a second try one day!

Us all!

Goodness, i didnt know they open till so late daily!
Another place for supper if you are having korean food craves.

The second plan for the night was a chill out session.
Calvin & Angie really treated us with great hospitality and booked a suite at Carlton Hotel to host us all for his birthday party.
Just friends, games, and booze.

This convertible dress from came just in time for the Friday's gathering!
I was still deciding if i should wear it simple orange or having a mixed of colours with a layer design, and settled for the latter as seen above.

the room at Carlton

the birthday gift hurhur and I got for Calvin for his Korea Trip! And the guys with him, what's up with the food and liquor..

his birthday cake from twelve cupcakes.

It's Sunday today, a great day for a relaxing brunch and off I go in another of my new favourite dress from
Love Maxi(s) and this one is looking great with its swirls and light pink colour, can just never get enough of them. <3

HAVE A GOOD DAY YA'LL!

Crsytal Jade Golden Palace

Sometimes we just get really amazed how individuals can click and have so much to share even if it's just seeing and knowing the person for just a while.
And that was what Vel, Brad and I talked and agreed on when we three decided to go for a lunch date together one afternoon last week at Paragon.
It's a pity qiuting couldn't join cuz i'm sure it will be even more fun with her around!

I wore a semi corporate dress from flymetoparis, and i always have a thing for similar looking tops like that – the button area on the shoulder design,
but this time, they incorporated into a dress which gives us more reason to get it cuz it's readily matched and good to go!
Loving the colour, fit and cut for this dress, and i received compliments about this dress too!

Brad (i suppose you know who he is -  ladyironchef) and i are great fans of dimsum and are constantly on the lookout for new places to try.
We finally made some time out to arrange for a dimsum luncheon at a place we have both longed to try – Crystal Jade Golden Palace @ Paragon Level 5.

You couldn't see much of the restaurant from the entrance but I bet you will be blown off just like us when you enter inside.
This has gotta be one of the nicest and coziest ambiences I have ever experience,
and everything inside the restaurant is fine and exquisite looking.

The restaurant.

my dimsum khakis! Vel dear and brad (check out that camera!! spell workaholic)

And here comes the food.

egg tarts

deep fried prawn rolls with stuffed mango

custurd buns

har gao- steamed prawn dumplings

chicken feet

baked pork pastries

We were pretty food after ordering the above to share between us three,
and prices were on par as the other restaurants (eg. taste paradise, royal china),
cost us about S$44 after GST for the above.

But for taste wise, i still prefer taste paradise/royal china though i'm not sure if i should discount the fact that we were busy taking photos when the food came,
and it turned cold by the time we ate it! heh
For my favourite dishes which i'm particular like the custurd buns, prawn dumplings and pork pastries,
i would still think these two restaurants do it slightly better.

We three are looking out for the next dimsum place to try out,
and if you do have any that you are not sure if its good, but heard before and hope to get some reviews,
drop me a comment/email at and let me know!! We will try them for you first and make some recommendations! ;D

***

Here are some outfits of the week to share and you might like them..

A structured skirt from Dandzelia which goes well with just a basic top.
i like the structured-ness of the skirt which actually helps on giving the flare shape design and quality is good too. ;)

Another versatile piece from dandzelia, and the ruffles, pleats, and draw strings make the top pretty unique,
and it can be either glam up or casual in this comfortable material.

To those who are worrying about what to wear for upcoming dinners and functions, fret not ;)
This dainty dress from flymetoparis in one of the loveliest colours ever might be a perfect one.
Comes with the removable satin sash and the details at one of the shoulders definitely make it a special piece.

Hope you enjoyed the outfits of the week!

The Nuffnang Journey & Boomerang

*EDITED*

MY JOURNEY WITH NUFFNANG

The blog has been my baby for the past 5 years, and is absolutely one which i share my many countless happy memories and sometimes… sadness,
but I probably didn't get too much into the latter because i don't think it's good to get you feeling like an emo-elmo everytime when I am being an emo-elmo huh.
Especially if i blog about sadness stuff on a Sunday night, and i reckon you will just outcast my blog every weekend cuz it will make your mondays even blue-er.
Well, we are all humans and to err is human,
there are definitely ups and downs which I myself go through quite a fair bit too.

But today, some thoughts just got me feeling thankful and contented,
and it feels really nice to be taking moments to truly appreciate what has been going on,
together with whatever good has happened in your life.
Many a time, when i'm in this mode, i would realise that the downs brought me up to who i am today,
and gratitude to the good definitely surpasses the negativity of the downs,
perhaps, some goods wouldn't have happened without the downs..

Righto, so the blog is definitely one thing that I couldn't be more than thankful of,
and i just be really amazed how my passion got me thus far, and can actually become such a great thing that i look forward to do everyday with tremendous enjoyment.
With this in mind, I must say there is one company that gave me the opportunities to experience more than what i could have,
and it's none other than Nuffnang.

I believe you guys have all heard of Nuffnang (NN) or are already in the family, and I suppose i'm one of the newest addition to the NN family.
They have been a team of people who we work closely with in regards to the commercial side,
but experiencing the commercial side in our most personal way is the catch to why I am thankful for them too.
Because we get to try out different interesting products, services or events by ourselves personally,
and yet at the same time, sharing the experiences in our most truthful and honest views, i swear.

Am sure we all don't just blog for the sake of just promoting stuff with all the technical facts and purely positivity,
but instead, its the first hand direct experiences we have and want to share because it might just be as helpful or interesting to yoy.
That's probably how we make sure you would come back to read and at the same time,
not just us but for you to also get hold of good deals to experience them yourself too!

So here's my journey with nuffnang in pictures, and
thank you Nuffnang for all the wonderful opportunities you gave me so far since months ago. :)

1. Being a true blue foodie, you can imagine how excited i was to get my first ever assignment with PIZZA HUT,
trying the latest pasta in town with a bunch of new great friends!

2. Another that is one of a kind! when can we all experience a 4 course gourmet dinner by Mcdonalds?!!
this was an eye-opener for me and yes, we got to try the mcgrill burger before the launch and share this piece of news with you guys in advance!

3. Goodness, now you can see what i put on weight (some said i got slightly slimmer now hahaha but i seriously dont think so, cuz if that is really true, i am really plump back then!! -.-")
cuz nuffnang feeds me well. Dove was uber generous and i got to try a whole lot of new chocolate flavours. I believe some of you guys read that entry before, and chocolate-lover readers loved this! ;)

4. hahhahaha, food again but this time round it was gummies by Katjes!!
OK, i didn't realise i got quite a number of food assignments and do i really have that foodie face?
Yes or no i would still think it's a good thing, can eat is a fortunate and enjoyable thing (福).

5. My first ever headphones!!! LOVE the colour and until now i am still using it.
If i wasn't with nuffnang, I wouldn't know that philips has such good and stylish headphones. now you know it too. ;)

6. Got to keep in touch with gorgeous friends once again, and this time we get to have fun together trying out gorgeous pretty things!
Not the cupcakes nor balloons, but it was for Estee Lauder's new skin care product, the skintone illuminator!
Good stuff, good company.

7. phew! awesome to try out another skincare brand- cellnique with a range of products that helped to minimize my fine lines and improve my skin!
I mean, i wouldn't even know this product can be really good that i actually re-purchased it after i had the chance to try it on my face.
Thanks to nuffnang! ;)

8. Very thankful for this opportunity to be sent overseas to Hong Kong Disneyland!
Never expected this at all, and again, to the greatness of Nuffnang team,
thankyou for letting me have so much fun with my bestie girlfriend at a place that I have never been to before!

9. And the singtel robinsons event which i got to know a table of gorgeous new friends like the above,
and taking pictures with tough fresh meat (you know which picture am i referring to, hahaha).
Well and got to know these latest news and fashion of singtel and robinsons respectively without even reading the news!

MACKY GOT A NEW LOOK

I finally upgraded my macbook pro aesthetically, you must be wondering what was it
(but no i didn't do any plastic surgery to it by dismantling any of the parts though i dont know if there is even a possibility to do so),
but instead i did an enhancement to it all thanks to a friend, Sabrina, who recommended me to do it.

Sigh!
I WISHED i knew about this earlier,
and that could seriously help save my macky (yes i named my macbook pro macky, and yes masculine cuz opposite sex attracts :p) from all those scratches by yours truly unintentionally.
Yes i repeat – Unintentionally!!
Apparently, anyone that sees Macky goes like:

1. "wah, how long ago did you buy your laptop?"
2. "!!!! what happened to your laptop??" (for friends that know it wasn't too long ago)
3. " did you buy that 5 years ago?" (with pun intended, cuz the model was out only like 3 years ago i think!! boohoo.)

BIG FAT SIGH.
Anyone that knows me knows that i'm super attached to Macky, carrying it almost everywhere I go,
and using it almost 16 hours a day everyday.
No doubt those scratches came along and accumulated until one fine day,
when the battery went flat, couldn't use and i was outside waiting for someone and had time to spare,
i took a serious look at it all round….

goodness.. no joke, i didn't realise that it was so uber worn out. :(
Feeling heart ache cuz i got Macky as a present for myself after savings for months, and paying it right at one shot I still remember.
And that's like 4 digits off my pockets instantly.

So anyways, im not quite a big fan of having designs on my laptop (eg. gmasking it all over with pretty prints),
pretty much a guy for this, and i like it original and simple without doing plastic surgery for my belongings especially gadgets,
(except maybe for my iphone cuz i love changing covers + glossy/matte/mirror screen protectors muahahaha).

The only thing i got to protect for Macky is this lovely hard external cover that trish and leney got for me for my birthday last year,
but i recently took it out while i take Macky out as it does add on to quite an amount of weight to the laptop!.
Until Sabrina introduced to me to get this particular product that really helps to take great care of macky,
and I did some research and was convinced to get this to give macky something good since i use him EVERYDAY.

Not sure if you heard of it before but it's called ,
pretty popular among the mac lovers cuz they do this particular awesome protective layer for just Mac,
and for just quite a few mac products such as Macbook pro, air and ipad 2 as they are specially customized for those models.

I saw it online at first on a picture that my friend posted and thought that it's just a mere normal protector sheet only,
and not really seeing any thing special until one day i got to touch and feel the real thing.
So my friend went on to tell me how good this product is,
and that it's not just a protector sheet but is one that is TEAR-RESISTANT and FINGERPRINT-RESISTANT.
Another factor that got me surprised was that there's a need to "install" it on the laptop and not just take and paste sheet,
good to know that cuz it means that the sheet must be something quite durable or special that what i have expected.

SEE!! Macky could have been saved from those scratches!! ;\

Went down to the main store to get it done – DG Lifestyle at vivocity.

honoured to get the lady boss to help me!! :p
No worries, all installation will be done for you by the professional staff.

interesting…..

Here's me all dressed up in corporate printed work dress, and holding on to macky!
Love prints and this is definitely one dress which goes well with blazers for corporate and formal events too.

Done!! Thanks for introducing me to this, Sabrina! :)

My mom actually asked me if i bought a new laptop -.-,
but that is definitely awesome to be asked, woohoo, it's worth it then!! :p

Was at the stall for about half hour to get macky all covered up in a set of - two sheets (one front and back),
and this sheet is known to be originated from protecting CARS!! (even hurhur knows about it)
Powerful huh. So this was also one reason that i was convinced to get it cuz it can really protect the laptop.
Well, though macky has pretty severe marks when you look closer but…. better late than never!!!
Afterall, laptop already costs quite a bit to get, might as well top up a bit more to make it of better quality- to last for a long period of time.

Check out my "new" macky equipped with !!
looking DIFFERENT and SMART from the normal macs (especially when in starbucks,
i usually see many using a mac and mine is unique with the GLOSSY surface yet looking original!! hehehe).

i know i know, you can see the scratches, but they will stop there and not multiply thanks to klearzkin!!

You can check out more at their website or facebook in fact if you are interested to get it or see more.
Their has constant updates and from what I know,
they will be having these awesome Klearzkin protective sheets customized for other products (eg. laptops, gadgets),
so perhaps you can like them or check them out there for more latest updates.
Just saw that they had a contest for people to win a complimentary set of Klearzkin at their facebook page,
ahhh miss it now but lady boss told me there will be more,
so don't miss it if you want to get your product protected too. :)

BRUNCH AT BOOMERANG

Weekend brunches never fail to brighten up my day, and this one last week was no exception.
Val, apple and myself arranged a brunch catch up session on Monday, the long weekend and decided to try Boomerang @ Robertson Quay.
We were rather looking forward to try out the food there as it was one of Val Aussie boss's favourite places of all for meals,
so i reckon it must be something good!

I was told that Boomerang is popular amongst the Caucasians and as well as friendly for big group/ kids.

Here comes our food!

Milk Chocolate drink (S$6)

Strawberry smoothie: Strawberries, yogurt, milk, honey (S$10)

Mango Smoothie: Mango, milk, yogurt, honey (S$10)  + my very pretty nails, read more about it at the end of this entry! :)

The "Bondi" (S$15)
Val had this, and she mentioned the bread was really good, and i suppose the avocado and tomato wouldn't differ much from else where.
But we were rather disappointed with the mushrooms (we are great fans of mushrooms), and they were rather poorly marinated and cooked that day,
the taste had a bitter aftermath which wasn't really to our likings. :(

Beef hash (S$16)
Apple had this and she likes it! I tried a mouthful of her beef, which was some sort panfried together with bacon and ham,
and it was indeed delectable. Good choice and well done with the poached eggs.

Egg's benedicts (S$17)
The set came with the potatoes only but i added S$3 to top up for the mushrooms.
Like I mentioned earlier on, it was pretty much a waste cuz we didn't finish the bulk of the mushrooms in the end.

Sticky Date pudding (S$12)
The ice cream was good, but the cake was a lil tough, but i suppose it was because it wasn't warm enough,
but overall this dessert is reasonably good.

Love my strawberry smoothie, and this is worth a try!
Wore this white top with gold shimmery design by and I love the intricate designs at the gold area,
especially the sequins all sew on one by one together,
and this could very well be one of my Christmas outfits for the upcoming gatherings!

With val dear. :)

And apple pie :)

Boomerang is a good place to hang out with family and friends in fact,
but after visiting it, i heard that they are better for their mains instead of the all day breakfast,
so perhaps you can try the mains and do share with me what's good if you do visit there!

FASHION OF THE WEEK

Got this versatile pleated bottom dress from as well,
and the quality of this is really good.
Wanted to wear it more formal with just a think sleek belt but decided to wear it in a more casual way -
with the thicker brown belt!

Bold colours are my favourite and so are colour blocks in those awesome stunning colours!
This top from has quite a unique cut at the bottom, looks good when tuck out too,
but i love to pair tops with high waisted.
Had such a hard time deciding the colour!

Mom likes me in this dress and said both the cut and design look demure on me. hehehe
does have great sense of style for us girls!

TWINKLE NAILZ

Not only does clothes get me excited,
anything pretty gets me over the moon too!

As seen above, my so-in-love nails are done by my friend, Jenny,
who has a GORGEOUS home-based nail salon.

Known her for a while, and she never fails to surprise me with her creativity and passion with nails,
and this time I did a quick gelish with her, and i wanted something cutesy yet having a LOUD base colour,
so there you go!

It's always enjoyable visiting Jenny and catching up with her,
and we have so much to talk about.
Cuz of that, every nail session for at least 2-3 hours seems like just half hour as time just literally flew!

Anyways, here's her GORGEOUS GORGEOUS ROOM!!!

good thing about home-based nail salon is that you really feel so cozy just like your are at home.

love the chandelier and the humongous chair!

Suddenly pink looks really nice to me hahaha.

entertainment during your nail session. how pampered.

great variety of colours just for ya!

one reason why jenny is awesome, she has won competitions and yes, she deserves it all. ;)

How I spent my birthday ♥

This backdated post will sum up my entire birthday eve and birthday of this year!

It was my first birthday spent with hurhur, and i was asked to keep the eve and actual day free for a surprise.
Exciting, i must say, and i was itching every single bit to know what will the plans be back then, and finally on the eve of my birthday, 6th oct,
which fell on a Thursday, I met him at around 12 noon to go for a lunch before the plan starts!

We had a lil game and it was hilarious- i told him i will write down on a piece of paper to guess what are the plans,
and will share it with him after the entire thing to see if i'm a good guesser or if he's a good surpriser!
So turns out i got two wrong and two correct, read on to know. :)

I decided on this thai food (yes, im a great fan of thai food!) at Ang Mo Kio, and we tried this new place introduced by my golf khaki Justin,
who lives right smack within areas of good food.

Thai ice tea is a must have, and the basil pork which wasn't as good as expected.
Other places have better tasting basil pork.

Pineapple fried rice.
Absolutely tasty and flavourful, worth every single penny!

Located amongst the neighbourhood area and it's a lil pity on its location.
You can't really see it while driving along the road as it is situated below a block right inside of a carpark,
but It's definitely worth the try!

The first step of the plan was revealed and it turned out to be a one night stay at Naumi Boutique Hotel!!
Heard about it long ago, and this hotel is situated at a good location (bugis area) with only limited rooms,
totally excited to see the room then!

The artsy lobby.

Got a birthday eve lilac dress from , wore it with a matching feathered hairband, very purple-lish i know! :p

And the man behind the surprise! <3

Finally, we got our keys and guess what?
They upgraded us to a suite, wouldn't complain about birthdays falling on weekdays! :D

the suite was awesome, it was totally like a one room studio apartment.

The so called living room

bed room

yes, balcony!!

but boohoo, it was raining!

Love the spacious bathroom, it is bigger than the pictures in real life.

it has a mini kitchen, doesnt seem like it but wait till you see what's hidden behind the mirrors.

It has everything that you can whip up a good meal! Though the toilet roll stuck to the door seems a lil off place. heh

i love coffee machines!

premium coffee and teas.

One thing about have a holiday (eg. staying in hotels) locally, especially in Singapore,
is definitely more worth it than anything else to just rest in the room and not go anywhere, (probably the very affordable hotels are an exception).
So we had a well-deserved rest chilling in the room, and caught movies – it came with complimentary movies rental!

We got prepared around evening time, i mean i was tasked to prepare by 6.30pm in due for a dinner at a "place"

outfit for the night!

and upon reaching, yes yes yes, dinner was totally AWESOME!!!

Morton's steakhouse, definitely a surprise for a first timer (me), they have birthday specials!

very cosy but not pretentious at all. it might seem like a posh place with hush hush talkings around but no,
love it that people were at ease eating, and it was comfortable just like eating in your own private area.

love their homemade bread, i could gobble up the entire thing but i was told to leave my tummy for better food to come.

seafood platter, fresh definitely, thumbs up!

steak was in a huge portion, and they are known for that.
so do note to just order one and share between two will do!
Very tastefully done up and meat was absolutely tender, ahhhh, i can't wait to go back for more!

Brussel Sprouts with bacon, i am so IN LOVE with this.
The crunchy brussel spouts and bacon combi was a total killer, and for people who do not like vegetables,
you might fall in love with vegetables after eating this i bet.

Experience was heavenly, and i must give them two thumbs up for the service and food quality.
Worth every single cent for sure, and though prices are a lil on the high side, but they do not compromise on the quality as well as quantity.
Would head back there for occasional dinners that's for sure.

For birthday specials, it came with a complimentary dessert! i chose their chocolate lava cake, anything for that!

what more can i say?

thank you hurhur, i had a wonderful night and an absolutely great dinner with you. <3

So back to the guesses and surprises, i guessed:

Hotel: studio M
present (wasnt sure if there was one at first or not, but somehow i got a feeling via some lil hints :p) : wallet
dinner place: carnivore
activity on actual day: the lion king musical

and i was right for the present and activity! (yes we caught lion king the next day).
as you can see, i was wrong for the hotel and dinner, heh.
Guessed purely out of fun but wasn't expecting anything, just wanna be cheeky and i must say i was truly surprised by hurhur.
thank you bee!

Here's one outfit of the week to share!

Got this rich purple dress from which definitely has a good material and one which accentuates your figure,
and perfect for a luncheon with a good o-time friend last week!
