Weekend trip – Genting Highlands

hurhur and me playing Deejay.

HELLO FROM GENTING! *wave*

I'm here with applepie, linny and partners, and it's our second time coming back to this place within two months.
I vividly remembered that we took the night coach right after the Friday work day to Genting,
and only to find ourselves feeling extremely lethargic at 5am upon reaching.

And…Its around 6am now, and surprisingly we all are feeling very awake!
We alluded this to the fact that we paid 40bucks more for the coach fees in return for spacious cum comfortable seats
plus a personal screen with 12 rather new movies to choose from,
enjoyment and a quality sleep made the journey much more worth it.
Indeed..I'm feeling very "business class" now. :p

Look at the huge space we had in the coach!

personal screens

its double-decked! we were sitting upstairs. ;)
Just checked into the rooms, and linny (Who came earlier with her whole family as they went up to Genting in the morning instead),
and guess what the sneaky couple did!

The lil pleasures

*EDITED*

Fixing up things can be such a joy, but can be quite a hassle at times.
It's like handicraft, some enjoy doing it, some think it's a waste of time but I suppose it depends on the purpose!

But this gift below came in as a simple joy from Applepie which required a mere few minutes to get it all fixed up.

It's a clean up box from Korea!

Love the vintage cartoon decoration prints on the box, and definitely loving the dusty pink colour as well.

It's really sweet of applepie to get me this clean up box as a gift to congratulate me on getting my first job upon graduation,
and no complains though it's two months late. :p Kudos to her to know that it will come in handy for me at work or home because
my desk is ALWAYS filled with things lying around.

Was contemplating if i should put it in the office or at home,
but decided to put it at the latter because there isn't much for me to put in the office except for pens and post-its. heh
So here's the end result of it!

Thank you applepie, smoooch!

On a random note,
here's a sneak peek into what the online fashion industry has updated themselves with!

* Bejeweled Sapphire dress from Hautehangers, quality is assured I must say!

* And a new item launched on their anniversary collection, the ribbon-tied top from Hautehangers,
check out the other colour choices at their website!

No matter how many people reminded me that fast food is a no-no to the diet,
but you have to admit that there is a different kind of satisfaction and happiness just like a small kid
getting his toy whenever you have a complete set of fastfood meal.

Well, maybe not for all,
but I do enjoy my lil delightful moments (minusing the sins) when i satisfy my cravings for these
sinful meals especially with the fact that i'm one food guru who gets all up excited when i get my cravings. Heh.

So, talking about that, after hearing so much raves about Arnold's fried chicken for so so long,
I finally tried it over the weekends at their main outlet at Cityplaza.

Poots has been telling me countless of times that it's the best choice when it comes to fried chicken, and that it's even better than KFC.
My colleague seconds that and it got me even more convinced to try it out, so hurhur and I specially made a trip down for a lunch!

I wouldn't say that it has the best location, neither does it have a cosy enviroment,
but I have say that the queue there was neverending! We were around 10 pax behiind the queue,
but fortunately for their efficient management of customers, it didn't take long before we got a seat in the restaurant.

The concept of the place was a hybrid of a restaurant cum fastfood chain.
Thumbs up for the prompt service, orders were placed at the door while waiting for the queue number to arrive,
and hot pipping food was served almost immediately! I'm impressed. ;)

2 piece chicken meal

Whipped potatoes that tasted like the maggie's whipped potatoes,

Verdict:
You have to try it!
The fried chicken is as good as KFC's, and the taste of the real crispy batter is rather garlicy but given that I'm a huge fan of garlic, I love it! Wouldn't comment much on the meat because it depends on which part of the chicken you are eating anyway.

Well, to sum it up, it's officially marked as a favourite food in my list!

the total bill.
Not exactly cheap cheap, but I'll pay for the quality of it.

And as you have seen above and are wondering where did i get the top.. there you go!

*Lime green cut out top from . Did i mention that its reversible? Love the lime green colour!

The Handburger

At Handburger – Tandoori Chicken Burger

Hurhur and I have always wanted to visit The Handburger for a meal but didn't manage to until a couple of days back.

Coincidentally, my university friends arranged a dinner at that very place and both hurhur and I agreed almost immediately.
Taken in by their sleak and clean decor of the bistro, it's definitely a good and chillax place but for a quick dinner instead as the place is rather small.

I was surprised to see that they actually handmade the bread themselves, so literally, each flavour on the menu is specially done up fresh on every order!

Hurhur & Kevin.

That's eugene on the right, but the hilarious part of this picture was that I realised the two guys behind were eavesdropping on our conversation!

The original burger, which supposedly should be the best outta all. Kevin's order.

The same, but with extra bacon chips!

I didn't manage to take a shot of my duck confit burger, but the tandoori chicken flavour was hurhur's choice of burger.
We didn't find the burgers extremely delicious nor special, so i guess we felt a lil disappointed overall with the food.
Portion was pretty reasonable and the handmade bread was tasty in fact!

Perhaps it was the flavours we chose, well, we always wanna try something out of the ordinary heh,
but I suppose if you are a first timer there, you might want to get the original burger for a start!
Each burger gives you a choice to either top up sgd $4 or $6 for a side dish depending on which one.

Got myself a small ceasar salad for sides!

The lovely companions for dinner, Sandy and Eugene. :)

And the two blue shirt guys, which eug deemed them as workers party!! ;p

I wore my new received item on this very day and I loved it!

*Musturd silk top from Pearlavish which is perfect for both work and play.

Finally, after several attempts to meet for lunches,
June and I had a good Thursday night out having dinner and desserts around the neighbourhood area.
My 175cm tall friend was all donned in heels and a sexy dress and I always feel like a short and stump friend standing beside her!! boohoo,
She always kids that it's hard to find a guy who is taller than her and im wondering how true is it….hmmm.

Anyhoots, i brought her to my neighbourhood's dessert shop which was located at a very random location.

* A blue puffed sleeve jacket from Pealavish for a day in the office!

And how can we leave without snapping a couple of shots?!

My tall friendzy!

Don't judge that it's from a neighbourhood random stall,
but the mango pomelo was pretty yummy there! Would give it one more tumbs up if they add more fresh mango cubes on top! heh :p

And last on the featured to show you a latest manufactured deisgn!

* Layered dress in light pink from Pearlavish, good for work and casual too!

***

And guess what's SALON VIM is having for the upcoming month?!

Farewell, Terence!

Happy Post Vesak Day People!

Last Friday was an eventful day as the Terence, the interviewer who gave me my first
job, (yes, my boss) officially left the company for good. I have been here for a month
plus to two, and I can see that we are all definitely thankful for him for the good
times, for making effort and time to bond the whole team together.

Together with the rest, we planned a farewell dinner on the previous day night and
settled down at Joaquim @ Suntec Convention after much deliberation. Now I can
cancel off this place from my food list!

I have tried the Porridge lunch buffet here before, and I remembered it was pretty
good. Great variety and value-for-money given that per pax costs $9.90 for the
buffet spread.

The dinner at Joaqium was a steamboat buffet and I love the fact that it was
personalized pot, one mini pot each, and there were 3 soup bases to choose from
- Ma la (spicy), chicken broth, and tom yum. I chose the spicy base and I suppose it
was too much for the night, should have gotten the lighter base!

Here’s a sneak at part of the spread…

Prawns, fishballs, mushrooms etc..

all kinds of meat.

more balls!

popiah yumz!

roasted meat, cooked food section.

desserts, mango pudding and assorted cakes!

They have almost everything, all kinds of vegetables, seafood (crabs, mussles etc)
meats (beef, pork, chicken, pork liver etc), and as well as cooked food like popiah,
roasted pork, rojak and many others. The best thing is that you can choose for
instance, mussles and crabs and request them to be cooked in chilly egg sauce,
yumz!

Though steamboat was supposed to be the main highlight but I have to say the
surprisingly, Popiah was the best food of the night though!

Food overall was alright, but wouldn’t say it’s the best steamboat I ever had, would
rate it 3 outta 5 apples! We spent about $25 per pax which was sort of reasonable
for buffet steamboat I suppose.

The team had a good catch up with Terence and the big boss Chris, and light drinks
after dinner is definitely a good way to end the night sweet.

Colleagues in the feast!

Zhenyang

Eugene the funny one.

Terence, the main person of the night, and big boss Chris!

Michelle and Terence

Excitedly discussing about the strategy to comb the whole steamboat spread.
Grace, its supposed to be a candid shot! :p

Colleagues and tired looking us, i realised..

Shruti, the mother to be in a few weeks time!

Serene, new joiner for the team (extreme right)

The funny bunch who made work awesome.

Gracie, the joy bringer!
And if you are wondering where did i get the blazer/cardigen from..

*Stylish black blazer/cardigen from Leflirtini, Grace commented that its pretty and i like the flap part of it too!

Friday, the next day, was the official day that Terence would be leaving the team.

Can't get enough of the Don's pie that Terence got for each and everyone of us for his farewell gift,
and its nice to see how popular he is with the whole office given that more that half or level turned up for a mini celebration at the pantry!

i have an office full of gorgeous looking colleagues!

The whole team here got Terence a gorgeous sporty Luminox watch as his farewell gift,
and boy, terence is lucky to be loved by many. ;)

The dedicated Hong Kong team  (my team) specially took a nice shot to develop during lunch in due to do up a photo for him to bring along to his new workplace,
forget us not!

i didn't save the photoshopped version of this!
Terence was photoshopped onto the chair we are crowding in the middle! heh.

* Love this pretty nude dress from Leflirtini as well, perfect for the dress-down fridays!

The teammates, tsai feng, shruti, hweeling, grace, myself, michelle and serene!

Writing the huge card we got for terence.

Eugene never fails to disturb prewtty girls.. ooops

the sweets!

thanks to hweeling, she's my mentor who kindly and patiently guided me for the past few weeks,
and thankful for her, i get a better understanding of the work than initial. :)

Last but not least, here are what's new on the racks of blogshops again!

*Sweet blue-ish green summer dress from My Glamour Place, bring on a pumps and you are ready to go!

* A unique wrap black dress from My Glamour Place which accentuates the waist line for most, classic design that will never go wrong.

Celebrating Rach & Bryan

*EDITED: VIDEO ADDED

The wedding was beautiful.

It was three years back when I got to know Rach, and she was the one from Love,Bonito (back then Bonitochico) to first emailed me,
followed by a msn chat and then a first meet up at Clarke Quay for my first ever shoot for BC in a rented studio.

Amazingly, i was welcomed with a warm smile and it didn't feel awkward at all when we both first met, and being the bubbly girl that she is,
it didn't take long before we became friends, grew closer, and share with each other everything during each shoot.
Those were the days when Rach, Vel and Jie did the photoshoots themselves, and each shoot wasn't just a shoot,
it was definitely a quality get-to-know session and then, a catching up session over hours each time.

And that was when I met Bryan too. Those were the days, that he would be sitting there marking his papers,
and sometimes after shoot, it would be ba ku teh lunch/dinner altogether talking about things in life- relationships, work, friends etc.

I wouldn't say it took long, but after a while, you just know they are friends you know, treasure and appreciate,
and never a day I thought that they aren't for each other. Looking at them together, you simply know..
….. They are meant for each other.

Finally the day came, on the 8th of May (Sunday), which was Mother's day as well.

Rach's 4 closest girlfriends were the bridesmaid, and I am truly glad that I was asked to be one of her bridesmaids for the biggest day in life.
It was absolutely my first time being one and I didn't know what exactly to do, but all i knew was that I was uber excited for this day to come for Rach.

I arrived at 6.30AM at her place on the very Sunday,
had my make up all done at home and the girls were preparing in the room and not long after, we all donned on our bridesmaid dresses.
Love,Bonito, being the dedicated fashionista, manufactured and designed a bridesmaid dress specially for Rach's wedding,
and the cut and colour (Royal Purple) were both brilliant!

Didn't manage to find any pictures for the morning,
but here're the peeks for the afternoon!

The wedding car, and the Solemnization ceremony in the early afternoon at Fullerton Hotel.

We had our parts of walking out along the aisle, and this was my partner, Darlynn.

Bryan's 2 year old adorable niece!

Not long after, the prettiest bride I have ever seen. :)

Everyone watching the solemnization in excitement and happiness.

A moment for flower throwing!! Congrats Via!

Beautiful people, Vel's mom and dad.

A complete shot of bridesmaids and bestmen.

The love,bonito team!

Had a few hours to head home to get ready for the dinner at night,
and I'm glad hurhur and leney get to witness such beautiful wedding..

Dress code tasked: Formal

The coolest pose (hurhur) – airing of armpits!!

A shot to keep for the night.

And lastly, this is one amazing video and i really think all couples should have a wedding video like this.
Very memorable, touching and one that touches many hearts.
Take a look at the wonderful couple and their big day in life ever.

from on .

Congrats Rach and B, may you guys have a very blissful marriage and live happily every after!

With lots of love,
Bea :)
