In the midst of the break

Let me introduce my golf Khaki for the past month, Justin Aow,
whom I got to know during French class back in poly, as well as through camps in Temasek Polytechnic Students' Union (TPSU),
and last but not least, one whom shares the same birthday as me, cept that he has celebrated additional one year. :p

We both have decided to take up golf lessons a month ago and had our first lesson since back then,
glad that we are both on hols, and we managed to meet up a couple of times last week to hit some balls for practice,
and i managed to go to the range four times within last two weeks for more practice!

Went to both SICC and Sin Ming driving range, but my usual would be Sin Ming instead. Here's how it is looking!

I remember its certainly a very warm day this day.

Wouldn't say I have improved because its all about the technique – the right grip, posture, swing rather than just the purely "practice makes perfect".
I mean definitely practice does make perfect, but am just concern if i'm hitting it right… hopefully the bad habits do not kick in before i get used to all of them.
Hmm, i need my second lesson soon. Very soon.

And oh yes, I went back to 2D1N Soju Bang again for korean BBQ buffet!

Love the place (minus the BBQ smell after visiting there) and the food, and the authentic korean vibe at the place.
Unfortunately, we were too late for advanced booking and had to wait approximately 30 to 45 minutes before we get seats, especially given that we had 10 people!

The Uni girls! :)

Winnie (top left) is leaving to Canada for exchange too,
and definitely hope it was a good farewell dinner for her before she comes visiting her friends back in Sunny Singapore half a year later.
Am sure it would be absolutely fun for her there!

These girls must be busy settling the modules stuff right now,  i know i know, module bidding is a chore! ;\

sweets :) the ones who i know since uni day one.

The pink panthers! Thats what our camp group was called when we had our orientation back before uni starts.

good food good food.

The table that lasts the longest. :p

Bon Voyage Winnie!

Again, i urge you to give this place a try if you are a huge fan of Korean BBQ, or marinated meat like beef, chicken or fresh seafood like prawns.
Uber value for monay!

Trust Your Beauty Instinct (Part 1)

The food guru has appeared again!

hahaha given the amount of posts that i did about food, i can safely say 3/4 of my savings are spent on food. heh
As much as it sounds like a greedy hunter, but well, don't we all get excited to try out new food especially when we dine in at cuisines that we love?!
Maybe i can even start my own hungrygowhere, teehee :p

Anyway, here's one of the latest in town i suppose,
I had a meet up with my ex-colleague, a mentor whom provided me with loads of great guidance during my internship period.

Ana and i have been constantly talking about eating healthy so she introduced this healthy korean food place that has just opened around town.
Bibigo Hot Stone @ Raffles City, i guess by looking at the name you would already affiliate with Korean food,
and yes, after my trip back from Korean a year ago, It's no doubt one of my favourite cuisine!

Ana  :)

I love vermicelli and it might be either "tang hoon" or "mee fen",
but my personal favourite is the "tang hoon", and i never fail to choose that if there is a choice.

We ordered these two dishes:

Fried Vege Vermicelli.

My rating for it would be 3/5 bea's apples!

Its more inclined to the sweet taste than to the savory taste which i thought it would taste better if its the latter.
but the taste and texture were good overall! :)
In terms of healthy living, this would be about 3/5 too i suppose!

Sliced beef on Hot Stone, with mushrooms and veg.

Personally i like this, love the marinated meat, and i would rate this  3.5/5 bea's apples.

Yumm if you are a beef lover,
and definitely worth a try if you visit bibigo!

This korean place is rather new, so i couldn't locate the hotline if you need it, but Bibigo is located at the Basement of Raffles City (near cedele there).

Remember the previous entry i did for Beauty Instinct, the facial treatment place?

I went back for another treatment last two weeks,
and took a while to get the pictures up as i was waiting for the results to set in!

The great part about talking to the lady boss is that she's like a personal face doctor,
I just have to tell her my concerns that I am facing myself,
and she would just recommend the suitable treatments accordingly.

Guess what's cool too?
I thought it will be really helpful when she's gonna touch on my diet next to help achieve a better overall!

This was before the treatment.

One concern of mine is the pores, blackheads around my nose and the side of the nose.
I am pretty sure a couple of you faces the same issue too,
so when i told Rita, she decided to do the Silk Peel Treatment for me.

Silk peel treatment is only known to be diamond-peel whereby they use a machine and suck out (ok not a great term, but means "remove" in other words).
and its highly effective because:
1) it totally removes all the impurities of your face (esp the blackheads and oily bums that clog your skin) and the dead skins as well
2) The essence of the masks, solutions, chemicals and all will be effectively absorbed by the aftermath skin

So the silk peel treatment is accompanied with a ultra moisturizing Honey Mask, together with the oxygen technology.
I have to say, my dry skin (i dont know why, but after chiangmai, my skin was exceptionally dry and ewwl) improved instantly after the treatment.
And it's doing good still, Check out my bare face after a week..

Minimized pores and clearer skin!!! weeeee!

I was convinced and Rita told me to go back within 7 days for another treatment so that the results will be even greater after that.
So i had a visit back to Beauty Instinct last week and this time round, I had another treatment!

My concerns were:
1) I want a fairer skin!
2) I want a smaller face!

Are you actually having the same wants as myself? Heh
i know many a time, whenever you tell people about these needs, especially the "smaller face",
many of them suggested botox.
And definitely, there is a much higher risk for one to have botox, in terms of monetary and sustainability,
and some have issues regarding social acceptability isn't it? Like eg, some refer that to plastic surgery etc.

Surprisingly, Rita has a cure for that and you might also heard of this treatment before.
Rita named it Make Me Beautiful treatment, and its actually face contouring, which uses radiofrequency waves to "smallen" the face.
Recommended number of sessions to effectively see the results would be about 4 to 5 sessions,
and no worries, Rita has a package to make the treatment sessions all worth while
i can't wait to share with you the aftermath results, so we shall see…..

Here's my first session by the way!

im working towards contouring the face, especially the jaw line there.
And i have to say the results was INSTANTANEOUS too,
she did one side of my face and showed me the difference of the before and after,
i could really see the slightly tighted face of that side, and i can't wait for the next session to see a greater effect.

Stay tuned for the PART 2 and we shall check out the results together,
or you can start your journey with me too. :p

And here's another treatment that i did, WHITENING!
For girls who are looking to get a fairer face skintone,
Rita has it all too! :)

it was fairer and Rita will adjust the degree of fairness accordingly to your neck skintone.
Here are two pictures of the aftermath in fact:

Right after the whitening facial,
i didn't put any make up except for concealer and eyeliner. No blusher and foundation.

After two days, here's my face without foundation but with other make up.

Fairer and my friends said its glowing! hehehehe

Book yours now, girls, and lets work together to a better and more beautiful skin!
just to warn ya that they are almost fully booked everyday, so book yours early! :)

January First Baby

One of my new year's resolutions would be to blog more often!
Heh, will try to make it at least 2 days once and if you have any topics or stuff that you want to see/know,
do drop me a comment or email to let me know yes! :D

*

Our dear Caleen turned 21st on first january 2011.

I thought it was really cool to be born on the first day of the new year,
and after incorporated with the fact that it is a start of a new year too,
definitely a time to call for celebration!

Here's dear caleen with the peanut butter chocolate birthday cake!

We had a surprise brunch organised for her at Relish @ Cluny Court,
which is associated with Wild Rocket, another restaurant that I would like to try out some day soon.

Located near adam food centre or along farrer road,
the restaurant is actually in a lil shopping mall and on the second level.
Decor of the place was pretty simple with the traditional english breakfast settings,
pretty cosy and homely.

Here are a few piccas to start the entry rolling!

the elder sister and the younger sibling. :p

Us and the bday girlie

love moi yellow bag from taiwan!

the birthday girl who was touched by us! hehehe

Food waiting time was pretty draggy, I would say.
Choices weren't many and were rather similar to the normal english brunch restaurants.
Here's our picks:

Cod Cakes with mushrooms and sour cream.
Tasted just like normal Thai fish cakes, a tad weird for english breakfast though!

I would rate it 2 outta 5 bea's apples.

Smoked salmon bagel with potatoes.
Didn't try this, but looks pretty good!

the girls and their long awaited set.

Eggs benedict.
Pretty disappointing I would say. Except for the potatoes that were pretty tasty, I wouldn't recommend to have eggs benedict here.

Rate it 1 outta 5 bea's apples.

Relish burger set.
Mushrooms were awesomely tasty and i had a mouth of the burger,
tasted like sausage mac muffin. My rate for this would be

3 outta 5 bea's apples!

Relish breakfast platter set.
Im a huge fan of eggs but the scrambled eggs here was disappointing, rather tasteless! :(

2 outta 5 bea's apples.

Here's the decor of the restaurant.

Happy birthday caleen! :)

***

I finally met up with wanling and susan, given the fact that our last meet up was 4 years back!
Gosh, i didn't think that it was that long and it definitely doesn't feel at all distanced during dinner last week,
Thanks to Susan who made the arrangement for us to catch up over a meal at Big-O @ wheelock.

Well, for food i will not recommend Big-O to dine in,
but for cakes, they have absolutely delicious cakes, people! :)

Met wanling and susan 6 years back when we were all working as mobile promoters!

Our self-timer shots! :p

wore my new jumper out!

And guess what?
Bonito's previous legendary photographer, Tingzhi dear, is back from London for a holiday break!
Including wens, the three of us had a meal together before Tingzhi is leaving back to London tomorrow. :(
Been a long while since i saw the both of them, looking good still girls! :)

I will definitely miss you much, Tingzhi!

The conclude of 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!

It's a brand new year of 2011 and let me conclude a bit on how 2010 had been.

Definitely agree with the saying that one year older, one year wiser,
and I am thankful for opportunities, experiences as well as lessons learned in the past year.

I suppose it might be my most hectic year in my life,
with the second last semester started in January to May,
and an internship in May till July, followed by the last term in school in August till December.
Wouldn't say it is a smooth sailing year, but definitely one which I had many first times,
and one which i made many new friends, and get in touch with the real working world.

FRIENDSHIP:

2010 was an absolutely great one for us.
Despite the busy schedule, I realised we have been meeting very frequently especially during weekends,
and they are the ones who keep me sane till now.
Names wouldn't be mentioned because you know exactly who you are.
And i just wanna say, a big thank you YOU for everything, girlfriends.
Thank you for standing by me in times of sorrows and happiness, giving me utmost faith and trust in me,
support and believe in me and not doubting me in anyway. That's all that i need.
Me too, feel the same way for you girls!

Of course, many other friends who have shown concern and care towards me,
or by making an effort to keep in touch by just a mere simple wassap msg or sms,
you are definitely appreciated by me very much!

FAMILY:

Everybody has been well, and younger sis has completed her secondary school too.
Daddy as usual, gets busy with golf almost everyweek,
and mommy, though busy with work, but have also become a best friend of mine who listens to my complains daily!! :p

LOVE:
I guess there might be a few who are curious, as i do get questioned on why is there no a particular someone..
Well, for those who follow, i guess you know it has been a good two whole years that I didn't have anyone special mentioned in the blog.
In other words, these two years I have been enjoying my singlehood,
and for those who are single or are experiencing breakups,
trust me, being in a singlehood and when you truly understand and feel the singlehood,
it is absolutely not a bad thing, or rather, a GREAT one in fact.

I enjoy the fact that your full focus is directed to somewhere you want it to be without distractions,
and hey, its rewarding!
And catching up with old pals or new friends certainly help to not at the least, make me feel lonely,
though you might bump into many sweet couples around.

I ain't shutting myself up or am being weird, hahaha,
but i guess i shall just leave everything to fate and see how the love life pans out for me.
But well, i really enjoy being in the singlehood to be honest!

CAREER:

It marks the end of university life a week ago, and it feels surreal till date.
I have to start looking for a job and it's kinda a mixed feeling.
A tad of worry at one side, but yet, an excitement on another side.
Will keep you peeps updated if you are interested! :p

*

The last week of 2010 wasn't exactly a great one,
but it allows me to learn and know who are those that have faith and trust in me,
and I'm sincerely touched and thankful for you angels.
Needless for me to say much, but YOU, believed in me that I have tried my utmost best in those difficult situations.

Ironically, i thought that some understood me well and long enough, and give me as much faith as i give to them..
and I didn't expect emotions and new people they met in their life affect the faith they have that easily..
it's disappointing and sad to know that the emotions overpowered the mind to think logically of the underlying basis/ reasons of why a particular incident happened,
or the emotions overpowered the mind to see what exactly is the issue or who are to be involved/ not involved,
and at the end of the day, the reason for all the happenings was because of others.
Maybe, one should care less for others and be selfish sometimes….. sometimes.

Enough of these sad and mixed emotions,
but let us all welcome 2011 with open arms and new plus great resolutions.
May each and every of you guys to stay happy and may your dreams come true!

i can't wait to introduce this MUST-GO italian restaurant for you to try!

Tucked in the corner of bukit timah road,
you can easily park your car with valet with tips system, or just by the road side along the terrace house.
Been there recently and I love the place!

Ambience was good (but could have been more cosy) and unpretentious,
with authentic italian decorations and furnitures that filled up the whole space.
The restaurant ain't exactly a huge one,
but because of its moderate space, it feels like one big family eating together.

The name of the restaurant is called the ,
and boy, you have to book it at least half a week in advance! (to be safe, one week in adv is better!)
Don't say i didn't warn you,
THEY ONLY TAKE IN RESERVATIONS BTW!

It's more on the higher priced end,
but hey gosh, the quality of the personable service and food definitely make the value worth while.
Kudos to them that they know exactly what to prepare by you just mentioning "oh its my partner's birthday.. or oh, its my partner's anniversary etc".
Trust me, they are that attentive and good.
Love it love it love it!

Did i mention that it is a good place for couple's anniversaries, or birthdays in my opinion?

if you are thinking of going there for valentine's day, PLEASE DO!
But remember to book it early!!

Didn't bring my camera, so here are some pics from the iphone.

The place.

These two are the MUST-HAVE MUST HAVE!!
Bread with cheese oozing out and wrapped with parma ham that is pan fried.
Squid ink pasta in crabmeat sauce.

The awesome things in life

How was your Christmas Folks?

Here's one photo for mine to begin with.

A joyful yet crazy us during the midst of dinner, check out all our expressions and poses!

This year's Christmas was a good one and no doubt, one of our most expensive house parties ever. Heh

Spent a bomb on the food, and as well as Jarrold, whom spent a bomb on the decorations of his place as our Christmas dinner venue.
Considering that the group's strength is 15 people, there will definitely be a bunch who are working and another bunch who are known as the "zhou bo" (do nothing).
Logically as it seemed, the zhoubo team are in-charged of the food preparation!

heh, I refused to name ourselves zhoubo (given that we are on holiday),
so i renamed our team to be the Masters Behind All Sinful Joy "MBASJ". Teehee

Presenting you part of the team…

Okay, actually leney and yalin were the main chefs, while i'm the part time one. Hahaha
i know its hilarious that we were dressed and look at our feet.
Pardon our flip flops cuz we know its gonna be a shoeless party! :p

I didn't have time to go earlier to prepare so i helped to get the ingredients and groceries the night before.
You have to check out our fabulous choices of food and their awesome cooking skills, read on! :)

And so i went over to leney's to help a bit on carrying the food and did some dressing up at her place before applepie came to get us.

Able to spot our theme for the party this time?

Applepie with val dear. <3

Jarrold, Yalin and Kenghow did a great job in the house decorations,
check out the Christmas tree they bought the the fruits of their labour.

Love the effect of the lights in the picture.

Leney and i prepared hats for everybody

With the magnificent tree, we had to snap shots of it before party begins!

Girls and the beautifully decorated Christmas Tree

My pretty girlfriends!

Us in our Christmas outfits.

Applepie and joseph

the sweetest lovebirds

pressies from each of us for dirty santa game later!

There were some dishes which were to be prepared only at Jarrold's place during dinner time,
and my caesar salad was one of it, so we were stuck in the kitchen for a good hour preparing the dish.

Pupu was the special guest once again, super adorable with the outfit.

Girls in the kitchen!

the guys and their usual booze

and wine

you gotta try our homemade garlic bread, absolutely delicious.

While a couple of us were in the kitchen preparing for the dinner,
a few of them were at the living room doing up this swirl paper decor up to beautify the place.

Check out apple's creation.

The handsome guys and all dressed up!

Kenghow, Selene and myself, the three people who religiously do groceries shopping for Christmas for consecutive 2 years.

Looking good people!
Yalin looks like some CEO retired tai tai. hahaha

With Velvet the mischievous dog!

val dear :) 6 years and counting (or even more!)

hahahha

besties <3

yummy food that you cant get it anywhere else! hehehe

Theme of the party was set to be as simple as it is – Christmas Colours!
So it was green, red and white.
Punishment for those who aint dressed to the theme would be to finish all the food (muahaha), im sure u can guess who are those!

We were informed that there was going to be a surprise for all of us,
and to think that we even laid out the bowls and dishes nicely on the table,
the actual venue where we would have our dinner was actually at the attic!

Gosh, check out the AWESOME DECOR!

Welcoming candles to light up the route and the room.

sweeties <3

Love the longggggg table!!

Kenghow's effortful creation- yummylicious turkey!

If you see the previous pictures carefully, you can see that there is just a plain grey backdrop behind us.
We were exhilarated to be presented with the ultimate backdrop on the glass panal which jarrold, kenghow and yalin did up the whole night before this day.

awwww, im so in love with everything here!

more love!

Me love champagne!

Cheers to a the end of 2010 and a good 2011!

guys and booze..

To show you guys a better view of the whole atmosphere that i'm totally in love with,
here are some more pictures of the awesome settings.

Never enough of Martini Asti (Please try it!! awesome bottle of champagne/wine)

When the clock struck twelve, we went downstairs for our dirty santa gift exchange game!

In case you are interested to play this in future Christmas parties, the game goes like:
1. we each have to get a present of about $10-$15.
2. we all shall NOT name our own presents and just wrap it up and place all together.
3. during the course of game, each of us is to pick a number (depending on the strength of your group, eg. 15 people, number 1 to 15)
4. going by sequence, the "number 1" will pick a present from the lot and open it immediately.
5. first present is exposed, and the "number 2" has a choice of choosing a new gift from the lot OR snatch the "number 1"'s present.
6. (1) if "number 2" choose a new gift, he has to open it immediately.
    (2) if "number 2" snatch the "number 1" gift, then the "number 1" has to choose a new gift from the lot and open it.
7. presents can be snatched at MAX twice and it will belong to the person who snatched it the second time.
8. game goes on and on.

so the catch is that the last few people will have a better sense of what gift to get unless it is something a lot sought after!

and my gift for the night is an IPOD/IPAD/IPHONE Portable charger by joseph!! YAY!! i need that!

Check out the rest!

if you see carefully, the present that joseph got was the magic clean mop, gosh, innovative idea by kenghow!

Selene specially baked the bread pudding for late dessert as we were too full, and it was heavenly.
Great potential housewife and cook, leney!

and we had log cake specially prepared by Caleen too, yummmmm!

Beautiful..

The mess after dinner

Leney's birthday is on boxing day, and we did an early celebration for her!

looking good couple, caleen and joseph :)
